Exceptional educators are vital to providing a quality tutoring service. Our teachers not only have years of teaching experience but also specialist degrees in the subjects they teach. All teachers at Licensed Tutors hold a minimum of bachelor's degree alongside a teaching qualification. Personality, knowledge, and communication skills are the key things that we look at while hiring qualified candidates.
Muza Usman
(BSc, BEd, LLM, QTS)
Founder and Principal
Mr. Usman took special interest in science & mathematics in his undergraduate studies and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in physics & biology. He then completed his Bachelor of Education with distinction and has since taught in both the state and private sector in the UK. After teaching at Licensed Tutors for five years, he currently oversees the creative direction at Licensed Tutors as well as business development. Mr. Usman also holds a qualifying law degree from the University of London and is interested in educational and family law.
Hira Jamil
(BSc, AMI, PGCE, QTS)
Director of Studies
Ms. Jamil studied child psychology & health studies in her BSc and started her career as a Montessori teacher due to her growing interest in primary education. She later completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and became a fully qualified primary teacher. She is currently in charge of timetabling, reporting, and public relations. Alongside, her administrative duties, she is also the primary education specialist at Licensed Tutors.
Shamim Sharif
(BA, QTS)
English Teacher & SEND
Ms Masud originally obtained her degree in women's studies & sociology but developed a passion for teaching English to both primary and secondary students. She has more than two decades of experience working with SEND children and providing both pastoral and academic support to pupils in the state sector. Being a resident of Woking for more than 20 years, she is also involved in the pastoral oversight for the students attending our centre.
Mihaela Ivanov
(BA, MA, QTS)
Maths Teacher
Ms Ivanov comes with experienced background having worked as a teacher for 10+ years. She is currently employed as an accountant and loves to apply her maths skills in the classroom as our subject specialist for primary and secondary mathematics.
Andrew Smith
(BSc, PhD, PGCE, QTS)
Science Teacher
Dr Smith has been part of the group for many years now and is a specialist in A-level Chemistry and all three GCSE sciences. Having taught at various Sixth Form Colleges, he brings a wealth of academic knowledge to our centre.
