SUBJECTS OFFERED
KS1
ENGLISH

For pupils in KS1 (Year 1-Year 2) the main focus will be to develop the foundational literacy skills in reading, writing, and spoken language. Building a strong vocabulary, understanding basic grammar and punctuation, and becoming confident in decoding sounds and spelling words through phonics. We will also work hard on fostering a love of reading through exposure to a variety of texts.
MATHS

For pupils in KS1 (Year 1-Year 2) the main focus will be to ensure that pupils develop confidence and mental fluency with whole numbers, counting and place value. They will be introduced to the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will also develop skills in fractions, measurements, geometry and statistics.
KS2
ENGLISH

For pupils in KS2 (Year 3-Year 6) the main focus will be on a combination of both reading and writing. Reading will consist of reading the words by focusing on root words, prefixes and suffixes and learning to read aloud with confidence. We will focus on reading comprehension, where pupils will work on drawing inferences, identifying language and structure, learning to retrieve information, making predictions and discussing main themes. English writing will focus on spellings and the legibility of handwriting. We will also work on expanding vocabulary, improving grammar and punctuation. As well as writing composition, where a focus will be on word structure and creative writing skills.
MATHS

For pupils in KS2 (Year 3-Year 6) focus will be on numbers and place value, where they will build a strong foundation of comprehending the number system. We will focus on the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, looking at strategies for calculations and applying their knowledge for problem solving. We will also work on the understanding of fractions and decimals as well as measurements, geometry and statistics. There will also be an emphasis on arithmetic and times tables to build confidence in general mathematic skills.
SCIENCE

For pupils in lower KS2 (Year 3-Year 4) we will work on broadening pupils' scientific views of the world around them. They will do this by exploring, asking, and answering questions, and testing and comparing living things, materials, forces, rocks, and light. Pupils in upper KS2 (Year 5-6), focuses on developing a deeper understanding of a wide range of scientific ideas using a range of methods and through a selection of KS2 science topics.
KS3
ENGLISH

For pupils in KS3 (Year 7-9) the aim will be to develop their ability to read fluently, understand a wide range of texts (fiction and non-fiction), write for different purposes with accuracy in grammar and punctuation, and confidently participate in spoken language activities. They will be working on building a strong vocabulary and appreciation for literature across various genres; essentially, equipping them with the essential skills to access and engage with English in their everyday lives and future studies.
MATHS

For pupils in KS3 (Year 7-9) the aim will be to develop their fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills in core mathematical concepts, including number operations, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. They will also work on building a strong foundation for further study at GCSE level.
SCIENCE

For pupils in KS3 (Year 7-9) the aim will be to develop a deeper understanding of a wide range of scientific ideas across the disciplines of biology, chemistry, and physics. We will work on building upon primary school knowledge and preparing students for GCSE level study by introducing key concepts and scientific inquiry skills.
KS4
ENGLISH

CHEMISTRY

KS4 (Year 10-11) pupils will be developing their knowledge on composition, structure, properties and reactions of matter, understood in terms of atoms, atomic particles and the way they are arranged and link together. Offered for the following exam boards: OCR, Edexcel, AQA. Students will be placed in 'foundation' or 'higher' streams depending on their assessment results and recommendations from school teachers / parents.
MATHS
For KS4 pupils (Year 10-11), English will either focus on the language skills or literature skills. Offered for the following exam boards: OCR, Edexcel, AQA. Students will be placed in 'foundation' or 'higher' streams depending on their assessment results and recommendations from school teachers / parents.

For KS4 pupils (Year 10-11), aim will be to develop students' fluency in mathematical concepts, reasoning skills, and the ability to solve problems by applying their knowledge to a variety of situations.
